Welcome to blog help for PHY 122! Here's how it works. For each homework question and lab report we will make a post, this will probably contain a few tips on what the problems are about and how to solve them. If you are stuck on something then instead of emailing us directly you should post a comment in reply to the relevant post. We will try to guide you through tough points and help you understand the problems and the concepts behind them.

Professors Koch and Stevens,
I was wondering if a sort of "recognition of improvement" factor would take place in deciding our final grades. What I mean is, if a student shows a clear improvement in his or her grades from Midterm 1 to the Final. Thank you for your time and feedback!
We are bound by the description written in the syllabus, which weights the three exams 15%, 15%, and 20%. In that sense, a student whose scores improve over the semester will receive a better grade than one whose scores decline by the same amount. But we cannot make a "recognition of improvement" beyond that. Work hard and do as well as you can on the final exam -- good luck!
Fair enough! Thank you!
